5 Hour Working Days...
Updated: Apr 14, 2021
We have come across a lot of posts online in the past few weeks, talking about the idea of 5 hour working days, for many people, working life has changed a lot in the past 12 months, one change being people valuing a work/life balance more, and another having the ability to work remotely which supports the work/life balance for many.
But, whether you're office based or working from home, could a 5 hour working day work for you and your company?

What do you think?
As with everything, we have seen mixed views on this. Some people saying they don't have enough hours in the day as it is... and others in total agreement, saying that if you're productive and manage your time properly, then you can absolutely get everything done, while still ensuring that there is always someone available to support customers through-out the week.
At BB we have worked with part-time and full-time staff, and one thing that is always very obvious to us, is that the part-time staff always get a lot of work done in their reduced working week, in our experience they have always been very determined, turning up with a set plan to achieve what they need to get done in their limited time. In fact, we'd almost go as far to say that they are more productive because they know time is limited.

Pros and Cons
Okay so, let's see the pros and cons from online views...
Pros
Better work/life Balance
Motivation to be more productive
Potential increase in staff retention
Cons
Limited scheduling time for meetings & calls
More time planning resource to ensure phones etc are covered
Less time with colleagues...(This could be a pro for some lol)
